SENIOR CITIZEN LAW PROJECT OF COAST TO COAST LEGAL AID OF SOUTH FLORIDA

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:

 

The Senior Citizen Law Project provides legal advice and representation to Broward County residents who are 60 years of age or older. While there are no specific financial eligibility requirements, the Project targets its services to those with the greatest economic and social need.

The Project provides legal advice and representation in the following areas:

Housing Issues:

  • Landlord Tenant
  • Public/subsidized housing
  • Eviction Defense

Health and Public Benefits:

  • Food Stamps
  • SSI and Social Security
  • Medicaid
  • Medicare
  • Managed Care and Long Term Care
Consumer Issues:
  • Foreclosure Defense
  • Bankruptcy (to save home)
  • Debt Collection Defense
  • Defending Garnishment of Social Security and Wages

Abuse and Exploitation

  • Representation of victims of domestic violence to obtain protective orders against abusers
  • Exploitation by family member
Naturalization Project
  • assistance to individuals seeking citizenship to qualify for public benefits
  • Assistance with medical and fee waivers

Location and Hours:

 

Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida is located in the Legal Aid Center for Social Justice, 491 North State Road 7 (441), Plantation, Florida 33317.

 

Monday through Friday - 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Applicants are encouraged to call the Senior Law Project at 954-765-8955 to begin the intake process prior to coming into the office.
